Harmony Day

What is Harmony Day? I’m going to tell you what harmony day is why we celebrate it. Well a funny thing is i’m writing this on harmony day. March 21 is Australia’s Harmony Day, which celebrates the country’s cultural diversity. It coincides with the United Nations’ International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. Harmony Day is about inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians, regardless of cultural or linguistic background, united by a set of core Australian values. Held every year on 21 March. The Day coincides with the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination. Harmony Day teaches people to respect each other from any background or race.

Cultural Harmony Now connects people, knowledge and ideas for positive change. We create and support projects that engage cultures for greater social and economic benefit. Projects involve participation of business, government and community to provide the following outcomes: Education and understanding.

Orange is the official Harmony Day color and many people wear orange clothes or ribbons.

Whales. What are whales, what do they eat or do?

What they are:

Now i’ll tell you all that and even more. Whales are a very large marine mammal with a streamlined hairless body, a horizontal tail fin, and a blowhole on top of the head for breathing. Whales swim forward by flexing their tails up and down, instead of side to side as with most fish. To change direction, they move their flippers, similar to the way an airplane steers. The dorsal fins, if present, serve to stabilize the whale’s body as it swims.

What they eat:

When it comes to eating food the blue whale can consume as many as 40 million krill per day, which ends up weighing close to 8,000 pounds of food on a daily basis! Whales eat zooplankton (animal plankton). Their finely fringed baleen is able to strain from the water copepods (a type of small crustacean) and other small zooplankton. Krill (a family of small, shrimp like crustaceans) and copepods are major components of a right whale’s diet. They do sometimes swallow prey whole, so you could fit down their esophagus. Sperm whales sometimes swallow squid whole, so it could definitely manage a human. In fact, there’s a story of a sailor being swallowed by a sperm whale off the Falkland Islands in the early 1900’s.

Why are they dangerous:

This time the “explosion” resulted from a natural cause: the buildup of gas inside a decomposing sperm whale caused it to burst. The bursting whale splattered blood and entrails over surrounding shop fronts, bystanders, and cars. When a whale is beached it is not afforded such a luxurious death. Gas builds up inside the whale as its stomach contents decompose — but due to its thick, tough blubber and skin, it can’t be released. A combination of heat and the whale’s own body weight can cause orifices to close up, intensifying the problem and cause it to explode. So DON’T GO NEAR A DEAD WHALE.

Fun Facts about different whales:

  • Despite being so massive, this giant of the ocean feeds on some of the smallest marine life – tiny shrimp like animals called krill. A single adult blue whale can consume 36,000 kg of krill a day.
  • Incredibly, Blue Whales are graceful swimmers cruise the ocean at over 8 km/h, and can reach speeds of over 30 km/h.
  • They mainly catch their food by diving, and descend to depths of approximately 500 m.
  • Blue whales have few predators but are known to fall victim to attacks by sharks and killer whales, and many are injured or die each year from impacts with large ships.

This amazing movie is very known and loved by most people around the world. Within the first 24 hours the trailer accumulated an astounding 224.6 million views globally, making it Disney’s most-watched trailer in a day. Spanning across all of the studios, The Lion King falls second only to Avengers: Infinity War which raked in 238 million views.

This is why i recommend the movie The Lion King.

Don’t you usually feel gloomy and bored sitting there at home staring at the walls that give you no reply, then i have something that will make you feel that other way around. That will not make you say NO!(well i hope so). It’s travelling, Going exploring new cultures, new places, new people is very fun and enjoyable.Travel improves your brain health. Travel expands your mind. This is all good for your health because new experiences increase cognitive flexibility, keeping your mind sharp. Studies have shown a connection between travel and an increase in creativity, a deeper sense of cultural awareness and personal growth. people these days all they do is stay in their houses not breathing any fresh air, just either stare at the walls or hole their electronics. Try Travelling and you would say, i wish i knew travelling was THIS MUCH FUN. Now why dont you go our there and explore the world in many different ways just have a day off. Some tips to do on your holiday are: Learn some different languaes, taste different colours and tastes of food, trust me its really fun, you could also make new friends and tell them how you live. NOW GO OUT THERE AND ENJOY LIFE!!!

Sports is Fun!!!

Sports, what do we know about sport. Sport is a way to do physical activity and healthy movements.

Types of Physical Activities

  • Aerobic activity makes you breathe harder and your heart beat faster, as a result, increases heart and lung fitness. Examples include brisk walking, dancing, cycling, jogging, swimming and playing basketball.
  • Muscle-strengthening activity increase bone strength and muscular fitnes

Walking running is good for your health and weight.

There are also many games for sport tht keep you fit and healthy like:

  • Badminton
  • Swimming
  • Soccer
  • Basketball
  • Cricket
  • Baseball
  • Tennis
  • Bowling
  • Dodgeballl
  • Football
  • Golf
  • Handball …etc..

Those are number of options to choose more but there are way more. Some other sports that don’t need anything except you is running, having a walk in the park even in your house or backyard. You won’t regret doing thee things if you want to stay fit and healthy. 🙂 😉

Do u want to get nutrients and vitamins then eat some of these food:

Milk, yogurt, cheese, and other dairy products are the biggest food sources of calcium. Other high-calcium foods include: Kale, broccoli, Chinese cabbage and other green leafy vegetables. Sardines, salmon, and other soft-bone fish.

  • lean meats and poultry, fish, eggs, tofu, nuts and seeds, legumes/beans.
  • grain (cereal) foods, mostly wholegrain and/or high cereal fibre varieties.
  • milk, yoghurt, cheese and/or alternatives, mostly reduced fat.

There are seven nutrition groups found in the food we eat, these are:

  • Carbohydrates.
  • Proteins.
  • Fat.
  • Fibre.
  • Vitamins.
  • Minerals.
  • Water.

Pancakes

I have recommended making pancakes because they are delicious and i think they are a nice to snack on or to have something light and sweet for the morning.

Ingredients:

  • Flour
  • Baking Powder
  • Salt & Sugar
  • Milk
  • Egg
  • Butter

Directions:

  1. Mix flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
  2. Mix milk, eggs, and oil.
  3. Mix dry ingredients with wet ingredients.
  4. Pre-heat the pan or skillet.
  5. Add oil to pan.
  6. Pour the batter into the pan.
  7. Flip the pancakes when the bubbles burst.

Extra (optional):

  • Add cherry on top/ bluberry
  • Pour Maple Syrup
  • Add a cherry on top
